Mask Design Paper Publishing

As a follow-up to the mask design/construction project, students were assigned to compose a paper describing their mask, and the connections between the mask decoration and their personality, interests, family, and family culture. Students were asked to apply the skills learned/practiced in grade 4. No other guidance regarding prewriting, drafting or revision was offered. The piece will be the first composition in the students' writing portfolios, and a point-of-reference against which future work will be assessed.

The photos above show students share their papers with their table groups. Volunteers were then invited to share their papers with the whole class.
